Player Development Program

Welcome to NMYBA Player Development Program!

Now that you’ve signed up, there are a few things you need to know to get ready...


CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT:

Check-in is between 6:15pm - 6:25pm at your first session and includes a parent meeting at 6:25pm, where the coaches will provide an overview of the session and quick Q&A.

Check-out is between 8:00pm - 8:30pm on the final session and includes player/parent evaluation meeting.

TYPICAL WEEKLY SCHEDULE:

6:25pm - warm up

6:30pm - skill drills

7:15pm - defense & rebounding drills

7:30pm - offense drills

7:45pm - reviewing special situations

8:00pm - scrimmage

PREPARTION FOR SESSIONS:

  1. Eat a high-carb meal 2 hours before your session if possible.
  2. Drink lots of water before and during the sessions to say hydrated to perform well.
  3. Do some light jogging in place and stretch to warm up your muscles.


THINGS TO BRING WITH YOU TO YOUR SESSION:

  • Clothes (basketball shoes, shorts, shirts (NMYBA Pennies) and socks.
  • If you need to change, place change in the bathroom located outside of the gym prior to your session
  • Gym bag
  • Small Towel
  • A basketball with your name on it
  • A water bottle with your name on it
  • Athletic tape - if you have an injury that requires tape


*If you bring your cell phones or other electronic devices with you to the session, please keep them in your Gym bag. You won't be spending that much time taking breaks, so leave things that may distract you at home or in your Gym bag.


INJURIES:

If an emergency arises during the session, you will be referred to a local medical facility and your parents will be notified. 


ATTENDENCE:

If you cannot attend your session or a game for any reason, including injury, sickness, or family emergency, then please try your best to notify any of the coaches.
